 I think a new type of "new media" that doesn't currently exist is virtual reality that uses all 5 senses. Virtual reality is fairly new and continually developing as technology gets better. And as of now, virtual reality only uses your eyes and ears. I think it would be cool to incorporate the other 3 senses (feel, taste, and smell). This way you can host things like cooking classes virtually. If we had this technology now, with the pandemic going on, it would be a much easier transition to virtual learning. I think something like this could be possible in the far future, but it would be interesting to see.

    I agree with you that "new media" has not developed fully yet. It would be awesome to have senses virtually! Maybe in future but not any time soon.

    Hey, really interesting take on the virtual reality as a new media. It will interesting couple of years to see how virtual reality progresses. I, however, doubt it will be able to give all the five senses. It will be amazing to see if somebody is indeed able to provide all the senses through virtual reality.

    First of all, As a cooking lover, I'm so happy to hear that cooking as an example. As you say, it will be very interesting if we can experience virtual reality through the five senses.

 Privacy has always been an issue with new media and social media specifically. And now more than ever it has been magnified with social media giants like Twitter, Facebook, and Google, being brought to court for their privacy issues. Many of us are told to be careful of what you post online because it will be there forever. With the amount of people using social media now, it can be screenshotted and passed around before it gets deleted. Social media engineers have created algorithms to guess what someone likes and show them more of that as a way to keep them on the app. I think Netflix's documentary, "The Social Dilemma," explains in great detail the privacy and confidentiality issues of social media.

 According to Jamie King's "Take Advantage of P2P - not fear it" file sharing is a sharing and transmitting of computer data in a network or internet with various access levels. This allows the same file to be passed across different computers anywhere in the world. According to the same article, P2P file sharing is a peer to peer file sharing which allows individuals to access media files using software program that searches and locates computers that have the file that is wanted. An example of P2P file sharing is Google Drive and the features it comes with like Google Docs, Google Slides, and Google Sheets. Multiple individuals can work on the same project at the same time at different locations. P2P has also grown to getting loans from one another.
